AURA is our competitive program that aims to compete in various provincial & national events every Summer (June – August). Athletes who play for AURA are typically high-school athletes with competitive sport or ultimate experience.
General Details
This year, we’ll be running pre-season training for players looking to be at their best this Summer.
In total, there will be 50-hours of pre-season from April 5th – May 22nd.
*All players registered for Summer are automatically registered for Pre-season training. You do NOT need to register for pre-season training if you have registered for one of our Summer competitive teams already.
What is the Pre-season?
Pre-season is focused on developing foundational skills players need to compete at their best during the Summer.
Focus:
- Proper defensive footwork
- Creating separation on offense
- Throwing range (distance)
- Throwing for advantage (breaking the mark)
What about the high-school season?
We know that players also play for their high-school season during this time; therefore, volume and load is managed accordingly.
The pre-season is highly individualized, rather than team-based, and doesn’t depend on everyone being present like regular team practice. Players are permitted to come to what works best for their schedule, and communicate with coaches when there will be absences.
Important things to note:
- April 5th: First pre-season practice
- May 22nd: Last pre-season practice
- In April, we practice 4x per week
- In May, we practice 3x per week
- Each session will include a warmup, foundational & advanced defensive footwork/offensive releases, 1v1/reaction drills, and throwing (focused on distance, breaking the mark, or both, each session)

Pre-season Program Cost
*All players registered for Summer are automatically registered for Pre-season training. You do NOT need to register for pre-season training if you have registered for one of our Summer competitive teams already.
Pre-season registration costs $375 + GST. This cost includes:
- 50-hours of on-field instruction throughout the 7-week pre-season (April + May)
- Elite-level coaching from those that have coached & played regionally, nationally, or internationally
- All facilities, equipment, insurance, and administrative fees
Players that have partial availability are welcome to play with us on a part-time basis.
Our program aims to provide equitable playing opportunities for everyone, and it is perfectly fine not being able to fully commit to every week due to other commitments during the season.
